How an on-site inspection works: what the appraiser examines on location
The inspection is a central component of every property valuation. We explain what the appraiser pays attention to, which documents you should have ready and how long the appointment takes.
During the on-site inspection we form a complete picture of your property. We record the room layout, value-relevant features such as modernisations or outdoor facilities, and the general state of repair. In doing so, we document everything photographically and reconcile it with the available documents.
Depending on the type of property, the appointment takes roughly 15 minutes for a condominium, around 45 minutes for a detached house, and about an hour for commercial properties or apartment buildings. It is helpful if you have floor plans, building descriptions and evidence of renovations carried out ready to hand. Any open questions we clarify afterwards in a straightforward manner by telephone or email.
